As we get closer to going full-time, it feels like there are a million and ten things on the to do list to get done.
Some are fun.
Some are exciting.
And some involve DMV forms.
Guess which category this falls into?
Since we’re planning to make Florida our domicile, Starrs Aboard and our toad (thats the car we pull behind the RV…LOL) will eventually need to be titled and registered there. Part of that process means having both vehicles inspected and their VIN numbers verified.
Since Ed was already in Florida this week getting the motorhome windows repaired, it was the perfect time to get this task done!
He figured out exactly which DMV form we needed, then found an RV dealer nearby who had someone to inspect both vehicles, verify the VIN numbers, sign the paperwork, and notarize everything.
Done.
One more box checked.
It may not sound like a particularly exciting accomplishment, but this one actually feels pretty huge.
Getting it done while Ed, Starrs Aboard, and the toad were already in Florida means we won’t have to make another roughly 1,000-mile trip each way just to take care of this step.
And with diesel hovering around $6.75 a gallon, avoiding an unnecessary 2,000-mile round trip suddenly feels VERY exciting.
The truth is, most of getting ready for full-time RV life isn’t glamorous.
It’s forms.
Phone calls.
Research.
Appointments.
And repeatedly discovering things we had absolutely no idea we were supposed to do.
But every once in a while, we get to put a big fat checkmark next to something on that never-ending list.
And today?
That feels pretty darn good.
