We are Ed and Laura (and Barkley in the drivers seat), a married couple in Kentucky who have reached that strange point in life where we’re asking ourselves…
What if we just got in the RV and went?
Ed has been retired for a little over three years. Laura is still working, but we’re looking ahead to the day when she can finally retire too.
For the past 25 years, we’ve always had some kind of recreational vehicle. Starrs Aboard was actually the name of the boat we bought after we first met. When we moved to Colorado, we sold the boat and bought a fifth wheel instead, giving us some amazing years camping in the Colorado mountains.
We recently bought a “new to us” Country Coach. Ed has been working tirelessly on it, making it just right for our next adventure.
We’ve talked about traveling. We’ve talked about retirement. We’ve talked about selling the house.
We’ve talked ourselves in circles. 😂
And now we’re seriously considering selling most of what we own, moving into our RV, and spending a few years wandering around the country.
We’re excited.
We’re nervous.
We’re probably a little crazy.
Starrs Aboard is where we’re going to document all of it.
The planning. The downsizing. The financial decisions. The health insurance questions. The excitement. The doubts. The mistakes. And eventually, hopefully, the adventures.
We’re not experts. We’re not professional travelers. We’re just two people trying to figure out what we want the next chapter of our lives to look like.
So come along with us.
