So, Who Are We?
We’re Laura and Ed, a couple of longtime RVers who have spent years talking about what retirement might look like someday. Well, someday is getting pretty darn close.
We’ve owned RVs for years, made plenty of mistakes along the way, and somehow decided the logical next step was to sell the house, climb into our Country Coach, and see what happens.
We’re not full-time travelers yet. Right now, we’re still working, planning, fixing, changing our minds, running the numbers, and counting down the months. Starrs Aboard is where we’re sharing all of it, including the parts that don’t go according to plan.

So, What are We Doing Here?
We’re getting ready to retire, sell the house, and spend a few years traveling the country in our motorhome. At least, that’s the plan.
This website started because we wanted a place to keep track of this whole crazy process for ourselves. Think of it as our “scrapbook”. There are so many decisions, plans, changes of plans, things we’re learning, and probably a few mistakes along the way. Someday, we want to be able to look back and remember not just where we went, but how we got there.
But we also wanted a way to share the process with our friends and family. From the outside, selling your house, retiring, and taking off in a motorhome might look a little like we woke up one morning and decided to completely lose our minds. We promise, there’s actually been a lot of thought, planning, number crunching, second-guessing, and a lot of worry and sleepless nights behind it.
So this is our journal of the whole adventure, starting before the adventure actually starts. We’ll share the retirement planning, getting the RV ready, figuring out how full-time travel is supposed to work, where we go, what it costs, what we love, what drives us crazy, and all the things we haven’t even thought of yet.
This definitely isn’t a “how to retire perfectly” website. We don’t have all the answers, and we’re pretty sure we never will. We’re just figuring out what works for us, making adjustments as we go, and keeping track of the journey along the way.
